440 AMP CONTROLLER / 10,000 WATT
Can be used to control both large and even the smallest wind & solar systems.
Effectively keeps batteries from over charging by diverting or cutting power.
Worlds Lowest Cost 440 AMP Wind & Solar Controller -
- · Battery Regulator-
- · Disconnect Controller-
- · Diversion Load Regulation-
First controller that can divert or simply disconnect
incoming power without an electrical arc occurring -
During wind storms solidstate IGBT controllers can fry!
This unit can control up to 10,000 Watts!
That's 12 wind turbines or 40 solar panels !
Used to prevent battery over charging on / Wind - Solar - Hydro
A battery regulator diverts excess power to power some other useful device when ever your battery is full.
Use the this excess power to make free hot water or to recharge an auxiliary battery bank, so many uses!
Regulate your BATTERY instead of your wind turbine, solar panels and many other AE devices.
An extremely robust unit! No fancy lights, meters, bells or
whistles and therefore draws ZERO power while sensing!
This controller may look fiendishly simple but it took 16 years of testing and custom parts testing in order to make it long lasting and dependable. Both computer board and custom relay contacts made from .999 fine Silver are built to take over 500 Million cycles or about 85 years of switching for the average system. TESTED for 16 years and proven 100% durable!
Versatile! Regulates all 12, 24, or 48 volt sectional battery banks (Built for battery bank build out of smaller sections)
Requires only 12 volts to give a representative reading of your whole battery bank no matter how large it is!
- · Battery regulator.
- · Charge regulator.
- · Charge controller.
- · Dump load regulator.
- · Diversion load regulator.
- · Versatile raised steel mounting plate.
- · Measures 10"long by 8" wide by 3" tall..
- · Works for all Wind Turbines, Solar and Hydro.
- · For all voltages ranges in multiple battery banks.
- · No grounded IGBT's - Lighting strike proof isolation.
- · 100% electrically efficient. Draws ZERO power while sensing!
The modern way to monitor your battery from over charging is to have a diversion load that performs another task such as heating water when your battery is in danger of over charging. Shutting down the output of your wind turbine or your other renewable energy devices is old school thinking. Now-a-days most people dump their excess power into some other legitimate device optimizing their energy independence. Hot water from your excess power can be used for radiant heating in the winter or even in the hot summer months for washing cloths or dishes and for bathing. You will always find a need for hot water in your life.
Our wind turbines do not have charge controllers inside the PMA. Our philosophy is to keep all the electronics easily accessible at ground level and as close to the battery or grid feeder as possible. Raising and lowering turbines is not a fun job so you'll want to put as few components as possible on the top of your tower. Having a charge controller on the top of your tower is very inconvenient to adjust, monitor and to repair or service to say the least!
Works on any voltage battery bank with a 12 volt section available for power tap! Since it only requires to read (sense)
the voltage across any 12 volt portion it can regulate just about any voltage battery bank!! 12, 24, 36 and 48.
Model #SEA440 Tech-Notes:
Cycle Characteristics:
12 Volt Bank - Turns on and starts dumping power at 13.50 volts. Turns off at 12.9 volts (+ - 5%)
24 Volt Bank - Turns on and starts dumping power at 27 volts. Turns off at 25.8 volts (+ - 5%)
48 Volt Bank - Turns on and starts dumping power at 54 volts. Turns off at 51.6 volts (+ - 5%)
The +or- 5% variance is caused by differences in diversion load size verses battery bank size.
Many factors can come into play depending on your systems size, load and the age of the batteries.
Novice notes:
A maximum charged 12 volt L.A. battery is 15 + volts and not 12 volts
A maximum charged 24 volt L.A. battery is 30 + volts and not 24 volts
A maximum charged 48 volt L.A. battery is 60 + volts and not 48 volts
TWEAKING THE SEA440 FOR HIGHER CHARGING RANGES - If you want your batteries to cycle at higher voltage
levels you can put a 10 to 1000 ohm / one watt resistor in line with the green sensor wire and trick the SEA440 into higher
voltage / charging ranges. This may take a little experimentation to choose the right resistor to get the cycle style you need
but it is an effective and simple way to make the SEA440 perform versatile applications.
(10 to 1000 ohm / one watt resistor are common Radio-Shack® parts)
SEA440 - 440 Amp Battery Regulator -
Extra heavy duty continuous duty relay is complimented by Silver alloy internal contacts
that can handle millions of cycles at very high amp loads without fusing together or sticking! -
"Electro mechanical units like this are impervious to lighting, EMP and static electrical discharges"
"Simple and ultra-reliable" - "A BULLET PROOF SYSTEM"
